The Challenge
At Nemacolin, visitors often arrive ahead of check-in time to enjoy the property and make the most of all the excellent activities that the resort has to offer. With guests arriving early, the hotel needed a way to access real-time updates when each room was ready for check-in and to ensure that it was on top of its operations.
The team was in need of a solution to help understand how efficiently its housekeeping team was running. It did not have access to real-time updates or any type of automation and had a lack of visibility into how long housekeeping teams were taking to clean a room and the quality of the cleans.
The resort was also in need of a way to access accurate data regarding cleaning times and quality inspections, which led to inefficiencies. Its previous housekeeping system did not notify inspectors when rooms were ready for inspection, which created downtime and unnecessarily prolonged the time it took to turn rooms
The Solution
Optii Housekeeping has helped the resort to evolve and become more data-driven, which has helped to improve efficiency in general. They are better able to organize the team’s schedule since they are able to use the data to prepare for how long each clean will take. Inspectors are now notified in real-time when rooms are ready for inspection, and as a result, clean times are much reduced and there is less downtime between cleans!

Following this, in 2021 the resort went from being open to the public to being exclusively available to hotel guests or members.
